Giveaway Rules and Regulations

Eligibility

1. The giveaway is open to residents of Northwestern Ontario who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
2. Employees of Rainy River Homesteaders, their immediate family members, and anyone involved in the administration of this giveaway are not eligible to enter.

How to Enter

1. Complete the survey provided by Rainy River Homesteaders.
2. Each entry must include your name and mailing address for validation purposes.
3. Only one entry per person and per household address is allowed. Multiple entries from the same individual or household will be disqualified.

Bonus Entry

1. Participants can earn a bonus entry by sharing our Facebook post about the giveaway.
2. To qualify for the bonus entry, the shared post must be visible to us. Ensure your privacy settings allow us to see that you’ve shared the post.
3. The bonus entry is limited to one per participant.

Entry Period

1. The giveaway begins immediately and ends at 11:59 PM CST on January 1st, 2025.
2. Entries received after the deadline will not be considered.

Winner Selection

1. One (1) winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries, including bonus entries.
2. The winner will be contacted by email and/or phone and must respond within 7 days of being contacted to claim the prize.
3. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 7 days, another winner will be randomly selected.
4. The winner's name and town will be announced on our website, rainyriverhomesteaders.com, by January 30th, 2025.
5. This date may be extended if we are unable to contact the winner in time.
6. The prize will be sent to the winner via Canada Post within 7 days of successfully contacting and confirming the winner.
7. Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received, including bonus entries.

Prize

1. The prize consists of one (1) $100 Mastercard Gift Card.
2. The gift card is subject to an activation fee, which will be deducted from the card balance. As a result, the actual value available on the card will be less than $100, depending on the applicable activation fee.
3. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.

Use of Survey Results

1. Survey responses will be combined and used as part of research to improve and develop services.
2. Your personal identifier information, such as your name or mailing address, will not be used in the research or shared publicly, except for the name and town of the giveaway winner, which will be announced as part of the contest results.

Agreement to Future Contact

1. By entering the giveaway, participants agree to be contacted by Rainy River Homesteaders for future surveys to assist in conducting further research.
2. Participation in future surveys will remain optional and separate from this giveaway.

Additional Terms

1. By entering the giveaway, participants agree to the official rules outlined here.
2. Participants consent to the use of their name and town for the announcement of the winner.
3. Rainy River Homesteaders reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the giveaway if circumstances arise beyond its control.
4. Any attempt to tamper with or undermine the legitimate operation of the giveaway may result in disqualification.
